Today I am exactly halfway through my internship at Pinch Social. This period has been anything but uneventful. The amount I have managed to learn in such little time is unbelievable. I must also add that I am having the time of my life.
Since Pinch Social is a boutique social media agency, I wear many hats in the company. I’m not going to lie; I consider myself to be a very creative person, so my favorite part of this job has to be all the shoots we do for our clients.
Very recently, one of our clients, The Gardiner Museum opened a new exhibit called “Renaissance Venice.” Since this was the first big exhibit that the museum was hosting since the pandemic, they wanted us to be quite aggressive in promoting it. After a very intense and long brainstorm session with the team and having a clear content plan to promote the exhibit, I was tasked with creating the shot list for the shoot we would be doing as a part of our content creation efforts.
Not only did I create and direct the entire shoot, I also got to visit the museum, see the exhibit, and model for most of the photos that were taken that day. It’s probably the most fun I have had while doing work and I also finally got to meet some of my colleagues during the shoot. Also, these are going to be great assets to add to my e-portfolio.
The shoot was a success, to say the least, and the client was extremely happy. You can view some of the shots from this shoot on the museum's Instagram page.
Another task, that I am currently working on, that I am really enjoying is creating a growth strategy for Pinch Social's Instagram account. The founder of the company has entrusted me with the task of increasing our Instagram followers by 20% before the end of my internship. This is a challenge that I have taken very seriously and thoroughly enjoyed.
This internship has really helped me put all the knowledge I learned during the B413 program into action and achieve visible results. Encouragement and acknowledgment of the work that I am doing by my supervisor during our bi-weekly check-ins have also given me the confidence that I am going to do great in this industry.
Stay tuned for the next update!
